Scraping is the action or sound of something scraping or being scraped; it also means a small amount of something that has been obtained by scraping it from a surface. Landscrapings perform a single environment that is obtained from the contradictory and distant lands of New York and Sahara, canceling their difference. The natural and the man-made, the empty and the busy, the enormous and the tiny, are paired in diptychs that perform an uninterrupted world of silence.
